    Am I allowed to sit for AFCAT being overweight as per my height?

    i have applied for afcat . I am in be mechanical final year. I have applied for technical branch. I am overweight according to my height .will i be allowed to sit in the exam.

    Yes you will be allowed to sit in the AFCAT exam.
    You will be tested medically only if you have been recommende by the SSB board .
    For overweight candidate the madical board gives 40days time to loose weight.
    So dont worry , give the exams
    and start loosing your weight from now onwards , excersice daliy to remain physically fit.

    dear friend,
    you can sit for AFCAT written examination
    if you clear it then you will be called for SSB
    before attending SSb you must decrease your weight according to your height as per rules
    if you are not able to do it then you will be rejected in the medical examination
    so start rigrous exercise to decrease weight and dieting also

    According to my knowledge you cannot enroll yourself if you think that you are overweight,since the physical standards are a vital procedures to be performed.First of all you must be good in health and physical condition.The height and weight differ accordingly,hence a chart is provided below

    Sorry you have to maintain the BMI(bodymassindex)
    if you want to join airforce.
    you are lucky that u r overweight because you control think
    of them who cut shrtlisted because of height

    Hi friend,

    According to UPSC govt, the physical criteria is very strict.

    If the physical criteria is not perfect, they can be disqualify the candidate.

    So, try to contact with the higher authority to be sure about it.

    Details of the AFCAT exam:-

    1.Flying branch :-

    Candidate must have complete the graduation in any trade, but must have maths and physics in 12th..

    Candidates age should be in between 19-23 years.

    2.Technical branch:-

    Candidate must have complete the graduation in engineering field.

    Age should be in between 18-28 years.

    3.Ground duty branch:-

    Candidate must have complete the graduation in any trade.

    Age should be in between 20-27 years.

    AFCAT selection Procedure



    PHYSICAL CRITERIA FOR AFCAT EXAM


    Minimum Height:


    Army - 157.5Cms, Navy - 157.5 Cms, Air Force (Pilot) - 162.5Cms.

    Eye Sight:

    Distant vision 6/6, 6/9 correctable to 6/6.
    Near vision N-5 each eye,
    Myopia: Not more than 2.5 D
    Hypermetropia: Not more than 3.5 D

    Weight: Appropriate weight as per age and height



    Chest : Minimum 5 CMS full expansion on inhalation

    AFCAT Exam is Conducted to select candidates for any one of the 3 Branches in between:
    • Technical
    • Flying
    • Ground Duty
    For Technical Branch you have to be a B.tech Graduate in Electronics & Mechanical Branch obtaining 60% Marks from a recognized University.
    Age should be in between 18-28 Years,

    For Flying Branch you should be a Graduate with Physics & Maths as Compulsory Subjects securing 60% Marks from a recognized University.
    Age should be in between 19-23 Years

    For Ground Duty Branches you should be a Graduate with any stream from a recognized University.
    Age limit is 20-23 years(Postgraduate) & 20-25 Years (Graduates)

    Branch Test

    You have to Appear for Particular Branch Test:

    For Flying you have to apply for PABT(Pilot Aptitude Battery Test)

    For Technical you have to appear for EKT(Engineering Knowledge Test)

    Selection Procedure

    check this above table and as per my knowledge you are not eligible for Indian air force.. because the eligibility criteria plays vital role in defense

    yes, you are eligible with 10 + 2 years of education In NDA you have two categoriescategory 1: NDA for army ; you may or may not take the physics and mathematicscategory 2: NDA for navy and air force ; for this you should have taken mathematics an physics compulsorily you said that you are a medical student , i think it mean that you have taken biology , else if you are MBBS student you may not eligible for the exam , because you may not be eligible in terms of age.

    So The Physical Examination Will tested by Staff Medical Board
    AFCAT-Air force Common Admission Test
    For This Examination all Graduates with 60% Marks are Eligible
    Coming Physical Details
    Height and Weight should be equal
    So Do Not worry about that.............

    friend you will be allowed to sit in afcat written exam.your physical fitness is checked only when you get recommended in ssb.in medical test your weight will be checked.if it is found over then you will be given temporary rejection of 2 months.if you reduce your weight to required limit you will allowed to join airforce.
