    Am I eligible for defence services after scoring 58% in +2 ? Career scope in defence services?

    I have passed 12th class from non medical stream with 58% marks in 2007 and recently completed four year diploma in tool and die making with 60%. please suggest what is the career scope for me in defence services ?

    Nice to see your Interest in Defense Services and After completing your 12th examination you are eligible for to Join Defense through NDA Examination or Through Technical Entry Scheme !!

    So, If you are Really Interested to Join Defense, then please apply for NDA (National Defense Academy) Examination. This examination is Conducted by UPSC Twice in a Year and after completing 12Th examination you are Only eligible to apply for NDA and Technical Entry Scheme.

    This examination is Conducted for the Recruitment of candidates to Army, Navy and Air force wings of the National Defence Academy (NDA).

    Only Unmarried Male candidates are Eligible to apply for NDA Examination, and the course of training is for three years. The Notification of NDA Examination will be Published Twice in a year and to apply for this examination you have to complete your 12Th examination form a recognised Board.

    Eligiblity Criteria :
    • Only Unmarried Male candidates are eligible for NDA Examination.
    • You have to complete your 12Th examination form a recognised board.
    • Your age should between 16.5 to 19 Years.
    • No, Upper age relaxation is applicable for any Reserved Categories.
    • No, Minimum percentage is Required in 12th to apply for NDA.
    The eligibility Criteria are vary form Wings to Wings.

    For Army Wings : You have to complete your 12Th examination in any discipline form a recognised board.

    For Naval and Air Force Wings : You have to complete your 12Th examination with Maths and Physics as a compulsory Subjects. Final year 12Th appearing candidates are also eligible for NDA Examination.

    So, If you are Not crossed the age of 19 Years, then you are eligible for Next year NDA (I) Examination.

    Important Dates :
    • Notification Released Date : 31/Dec/2011
    • Last date of apply for NDA Examination Online : 30/Jan/2012
    • Examination Date : 15/April/2012.
    So, please wait for the Notification and then Fill the NDA Application form Online and you have to pay the fees through Net Banking OR Submit the cash in SBI Bank. So please wait and for More details please check the official website :

    if your age permits , if it is between 16.5 to 19.5 yrs

    than you can apply for nda enterence exam.

    qualification - 12th with science steam from a recognised board..

    application form - the application form will be available at your nearest head post office

    exam - this exam helds twice a year in the month of april and august.

    Afetr passing the exam you will be called for ssb interviews.

    Here i am sorry to say you are not eligible with 58% marks.Because if you want join in defence you must have secured 60% marks in 12/Intermediate.So you do not have 60% .So my sincer suggestion is go graduation and concentrate on education and maximum try to get 60% above.Than you will apply for Defence with graduation.With graduation you will have high salary and promotions are also will get easy.So do not feel.You will have a bright future in coming days.Use time properly and make a hard work.

    The possible defense service exam which you could options after your 12/graduation is NDA,CDS.

    NDA(National Defence Academy) and CDS(Combined Defence Service) are defense service exams and these exams are being handled and conducted by UPSC(Union Public Service Commission).

    These two exams are held 2 times in a year namely as NDA I, NDA II and CDS I , CDS II.

    >> UES Entry:- for this entryonly final year b.tech/degree candidates can apply.

    >> AGE LIMITS :


    For Indian Military academy:

    Only male unmarried candidates with 19-24 years of age are eligible.

    For Naval academy:

    Only male unmarried candidates with 19-22 years of age are eligible.

    For Air force academy:

    Only male unmarried candidates with 19-23 years of age are eligible.

    For Officer's training academy:

    Unmarried or married male candidates with 19-25 years of age are eligible.

    as follows

    Height should be at least 157.5 cms(male) & 153cms(female) for Air Force wing.

    Chest should be fully expanded. The fully expanded chest should not be less than 81cms.

    There should not be any disease of bones or joints of the body.

    should not be overweight or under weight. He should not have weakly constitution.

    Your vision in one eye must be perfect - 6/6 eyesight. In the other eye, you could have an imperfection of 6/9, which must be correctable to 6/6.

    Hey friend,

    The defence services may incldue such as:
    • Indian army
    • Indian Navy
    • Indian Air Force
    For joining in defence force after doing +2,the option of getting into it is that you should write the entrance exam like NDA Exam


    NDA stands for National Defence Academy


    This exam is conducted twice in a year namely as NDA I and NDA II.

    Eligibility for NDA exam 2011:

    Candidate must be a citizen of India

    Candidates who are men and unmarried and not born before 2nd July 1993 and not later than 1st January 1996. are eligible i.e the candidate must have a age limit of 16 1/2-19 years


    Education Qualification:

    For Army Wing of NDA:

    The candidate must have passed 12th class with 10th and +2 pattern in school education conducted by state education board.

    For Air Force and Naval Wings:

    The candidates must have passed the +2 with physics and mathematics as in their subjects conducted by the state education.

    As far regarding the fitness the candidates must be physically fit according to the criteria by the council for admission of NDA exam.


    If you satisfy the eligibility criteria's then you can apply for the NDA Exam.

    Hi pal,

    Yes you can apply for the job in defence.

    For that you should write the exams like NDA(National Defence academy) CDS((combined defence service) these exams will be conducted by the UPSC(Union Public service Commission of India).

    you must be physically fit for joining in the defence.

    You are not eligible if there is any major surgey done to you.

    These exams need special training in quantitative ability and logical reasoning read the prescribed books for the exams and do well.
