    Army/Airforce Medical Standards?

    iam ramesh ,iam studying b.tech 4thyear cse branch.
    my wish is to settle in indian airforce but my problem is low vision
    sir please give me suggestion

    IF YOU HAVE LOW VISION YOU CAN OPT FOR TECHNICAL BRANCH IN AIRFORCE.

    THE MEDICAL STANDARD IS GIVEN BELOW.

    Uncorrected without glass 6/6
    Corrected with glass 6/6
    Limits of myopia -0.75
    Limits of Hypermetropia +1.5
    Binocular Vision III
    Limits of Colour preception I

    Ocular Muscle Balance Heterophoria with the Maddox Rod Test must not exceed.
    (i) at 6 meter� Exophoria 8 prism dioptres,
    Esophoria 8 prism dioptres.
    Hyperphoria 1 prism dioptres.
    (ii) at 33 cm � Exophoria, 16 prism dioptres.
    Esophoria 6 prism dioptres.
    Hyperphora 1 prism dioptres

    Details of Army or Air Force standards:-
    Indian Air Force is one of three major defence service in India and career in Air Force is consider as a very high.It is a world largest most powerful of aircrafts.

    But you required to clear some condition to get jobs in Army or Indian Air Force.The eligibility criteria and some physical standard are following as :

    1) If you want to apply for flying branch then needs to pass graduate degree with minimum 60% in all subjects.Before doing graduate degree you must have 10+2 examination pass certificate.

    2) You can join Indian Air force through ground duty branch but educational qualification is mandatory for this scheme.

    3) You must be physically fit and should not be colour blind or night blind otherwise may be rejection from Army post.

    4) Your minimum height should be 157 cms for male candidates and 152 cms for female candidates.

    5) Your chest should be fully developed with minimum range of expansion should be 5 cms.

    6) You should not be suffer from any disease or disability .

    If you should have all physical qualities and this standard match with your medical standard then Air Force examination is easy for you rather .But really Air Force examination is quit difficult.

    Selection in Indian Air force involved written test, Practical tests, Pyschological tests, physical and Medical tests, Interview and Group Tasks.For further information regarding medical standards so ,please visit to following website :

    My dear friend
    1.The height for male candidates is 157 cms and 152 cms for female candidates
    2.The weight is correlated to height.
    3.The chest of the male candidates is 80 cms and expantion 5 cms and female candidates is 79 cms and 5 cms expanstion
    4.The vision of eye is 6/6 for good eye and 6/12 for worst eye.

    you can give following exams.C.D.S (Combined Defense Service) exam :

    There are 2 types of exams conducted by Defence for ncc certificate holders :

    Certificate ''A'
    You must have attended 75 % of total training sessions
    The gap limit between your appearing for exam and your enrollment in NCC is not more than 12 months.
    You Must have attended one training camp.

    Certificate 'B'
    You should have 75 % attendance in training sessions.

    The gap limit is not more than 18 months between your enrollment in 'B' group and examination.

    If you had 'A' certificate then it will be benefited with 10 marks

    You have attended one annual training camp.

    Certificate 'C'
    You should be having 75 % attendence in total training sessions

    Gap limit is not more than 18 months between enrollment in 'C' and your examination.

    You must have completed 3 years in NCC

    You must have attended one training sessions

    The physcal standards for THe defense are given below...
    Physical standards: Candidates must be physically fit according to the physical standards for admission to combined defence services examination (I), 2012 as given in appendix-V of commissionís notice for the examination published in employment news/rozgar samachar
    Age Limits:
    For IMA 19-24 years as on 01.07.2010.
    For NA 19-22 years as on 01.07.2010
    For AFA 19-23 years as on 01.07.2010
    For OTA 19-25 years as on 01.07.2010

    Dear friend,

    You should be fit in all respects including Physical and Mental Level .To ensure your selection in Air force you should be fit.
    As you have mentioned you have low vision problem you should check following Standards :

    EYE SIGHT STANDARDS
    -->>You should have Eye sight corrected to 6/6 in each eye
    -->>You should be able to read 6/6
    -->>Myopia is allowed upto -0.75D
    -->>Hypermetropia is +1.5D
    -->>You should not be color Blind

    Physical Standards
    -->>Your Height should not be less than 157.5 cms & 162.5 cms for (Flying Branch in Air force)
    -->>You Chest should be fully expanded to Minimum 5 cms after full Inspiration.
    -->>You should be free from any disease like fungus & any other skin disease
    -->>If undergone any Surgery it should maintain a gap of 6 Minimum Months.
    -->>Weight should be according to your Height,check from below table:
