B.Tech Mechanical Student becoming Commercial Pilot/Air Force Pilot

I'm Andrew Jones, 18 years old about to complete my first year Mechanical Engineering in National Institute of Technology - Trichy (NITT). I wanna setup my main career in flying commercial air-crafts. Is it possible for me to become one, keeping in mind I've already started pursuing engineering. Dropping out is not something my parents would agree. But I definitely wanna try to become a pilot. So tell me what options I have right now to achieve my ambition. And pls enlighten me with the detailed procedure for the same. And I wanna know about becoming an Indian AirForce pilot. Is having a bachelors degree in Mech Engg a pro or con in this regard?? Need help

    Andrew Jones

If you want to join the Indian Air force and want to ecome the pilot then you can apply for the following exams after graduation.

    1.CDS Exam

    2.AFCAT exam

You can join Indian air force after clearing any of the exams given above.

For these exams you must have a bachelor degree in engineering or in science from a recognized university.

Your age must be from 19-23 years

If you want to go in the Air Force only then from my point of View you must have to give the AFCAT exam.

Because this exam is particularly for admission in Air force.

The eligibility for the exam is same as given above.

    Thank you...
