    Re: Can a prefinal year engineering student apply for AFCAT?

    Hello My friend ..Congratulations For your B.tech Completion of two years and it is good that you are desirous to make your career in Indian Air force -The Invincible.

    AFCAT is a written exam conducted by Indian Air Force twice a year which is a common test for flying , technical and ground duty branches.

    You will not be eligible for the first AFCAT exam i.e. the august exam which is notified in the month of june/july. But you will be eligible in the dec/jan exam .

    Actually They ask to get your B.Tech completed as per their batch demand.Suppose if this your pre-final year then you are not eligible in this exam because in this they are asking to get you B.tech completed in 2014 session .

    Now in dec/jan they will ask for your B.tech completed in 2015 session for which you are eligible.

    So keep regular update of your e-mail regarding the notification of the AFCAT 2 which is said .

    Hope the information is helpful . Please feel free to ask further

    Thank you

    Re: Can a prefinal year engineering student apply for AFCAT?

    NO. Prefinal year candidates can apply only for UES i.e. University Entry Scheme. To apply in AFCAT you have to wait till final year.You would be eligible only in Final year so that you can produce your degree certificate and final marksheet at the time of SSB.Have patience and complete your studies.Time is not running out for you and thinking about job every time would hamper your studies which in turn would reduce your chances of getting any job.
    You should have above 60% marks in B.tech aggregate and the age limit should be under 28years for applying in Technical branch of AFCAT.If you wish to apply for Flying branch also then keep in mind the age limit should be within 23years.Marks wise your eligibility is ok and I presume that your age is also under the limit.Prepare well and check the website of Airforce to know the next notification of AFCAT

    No you are not eligible for this exam now.You will be eligible next year for this exam.

    Air Force Common Admission Test is the test for the Admission in Air force.It is necessary to have a graduation degree in technical sector and science sector to be eligible for this exam.

    There is not any kind of restriction for attempting this exam.One can appear in this exam as many times.Basically there are mainly three following branches via AFCAT.

    => Flying Branch.
    => Technical Branch.
    => Ground Duty Branch.

    Eligibility criteria for the various branches:--

    => It is necessary to have engineering degree in any branch for the Technical branch.

    => For the ground duty branch,Only the graduation in any stream from a recognized university is required.

    Age Limitation for the various branches:----

    => For the Flying branch it is19 to 23 years.

    Dear aspirant you will be eligible for this exam when you will complete your BE .You can also appear in this exam when you will be in the final year.As you are the Pre final year student, so you are not eligible now.

    Re: Can a prefinal year engineering student apply for AFCAT?

    Sorry a prefinal year student cannot apply for the AFCAT examination because if you like to apply for the AFCAT exam then you need to complete the graduation because it is clearly written in the notification that a candidates needs to have 60% marks in the graduation so that is only possible when a candidates have completed the same.
    So you bshould not have any doubt regarding the same because graduation is compulsory to apply for the same.
    Well there is no minimum percentage which is required in class 12th for the AFCAT examination .
    But there is a minimum percentage required in the graduation and that is 60% in the graduation.
    so you should only take care of the graduation as it is necessary to apply for the AFCAT examination.
    There is the requirement for the 12th with physics and maths in flying branch if a candidate is graduate in any discipline from a recognised university with 60% in aggregate.
