To Apply for IMA you have to appear in the CDS exams.

IMA - Indian Military Academy


For joining in this force you need to write the entrance exam and the exam which you need to write is the CDS Exam(Combined Defence Service)

This exam is being conducted by UPSC and is held every year as CDS I and CDS II.This exam is conducted for candidate to join in defence forces of India

There asre criteria's which are needed to be satisfied in order to apply for the CDS Exam to join in IMA and the criteria's would include such as:

>> The candidate appearing for the exam must have a Citizenship in India

>> The Candidate should be a Unmarried male candidate

>> The age limit needed for joining in IMA Is 19-24 years

>> Education qualification needed by the candidate in order to apply for the exam is that the candidate should have completed a degree from a recognized university with a fair percentage

In Final year and after Final year of B.tech , you can apply for the CDS exam to join in IMA

Actually , in Final year also , you can apply for the UES exam to join in Army
UES stands for University Entry scheme
If you select in the UES exam , then you will be given an Officer level post in IMA


After completion of B.TECH , If you have secured 60% and above then you can apply for the TECHNICAL POST in IMA
For this , you need to appear for the TGC scheme
TGC - Technical General course
Age limit is 20-27 years only



CDS - Combined Defence service

Through CDS exam also you can join in IMA .
Your age should be in between 19-24 years only , to join in IMA through CDS exam .
you should be a citizen of Inida

---you must be passed a bachelor degree from a recognized university in any stream.

--Age limit is 19-24 years.

--You must be Indian as well as physically fit.


IMA exam selection process;-

you have to given a written exam,if you clear this exam, then you will be called for SSB interview.

Clearing medical test,you wiil be member of Indian m, military academy.

IMA stands for Indian Military Academy and is a entry in the army.Now as a engineering graduate,you have two options to join IMA.
CDSE(Combined Defence Service Examination)-CDSE allow you to apply for IMA,along with OTA,NA,AFA which are entires for army,navy and air force respectively.There are two entries of army with CDSE,OTA and IMA.

You can apply for CDSE,as the qualification required is graduation from any stream.Age limit is 19 to 24 years(at the of commencement of the course).

Apart from these,you have a entry named as TGC(Technical Graduate Course)-It is a entry for engineering graduates only.You can apply for TGC,you will get in IMA.
Age limit is -20 to 27(at the time of commencement of the course).

There are only two ways to join IMA,after graduation.
