    Details to join Defence Services through National Defence Academy?

    i want to know all details about defence exams, i am more interestedto join in defence service through national defence academy... i don't know anything about it. plz give me a guidance..

    hi,
    NDA stands for national defence academy.

    NDA examination conducted by UPSC twice in a year. as NDA (1) and NDA (2)

    if you want to join defence through NDA you should know about the following criteria......

    1) your age should be 16.5 to 19 years.
    2) you should be unmarried
    2) you should passed 10+ 2 with physics and maths compulsory subjects for air force and navy.

    NDA examination conducted for following wings.

    1) indian air force
    2) indian army
    3) indian navy

    the last date to apply for NDA examination is 30 / jan / 2012.
    and the date of examination is 15 / april /2012

    you can apply only online because the offline forms are closed from this year.

    Nice to see that you are Very specific about your Future Goals and Interested to Join Defence Through National Defence Academy Examination (NDAE).

    UPSC conducts NDA examination, twice every year to recruits the candidates in Army, Navy & Air Force wings of National Defence Academy.

    NDA academy is Situated in Pune and after completing this Course candidates are eligible to go for Training in Academy for 3 years.

    The eligibility criteria are Vary from Wings to wings, If you have completed your 12Th examination with Maths and Physics as a compulsory, If you have Not study maths and Physics in your 12Th examination then you are eligible to apply for Army Wings of NDA.

    Only Unmarried male candidates Between the age of 16.5 to 19 Years are Eligible.

    The Notification of NDA (I) 2012 Notification was already declared and the last date of apply for this examination 30/Jan/2012.

    But you have to born not earlier than 2nd January, 1994 and not later than 1st July, 1996 are eligible for NDA Examination.

    You must be in good physical and mental health and free from any disease.

    The minimum acceptable height is 157.5 cms. (162.5 cms for Air Force).

    NDA Exam Pattern :

    There will be 2 papers in NDA written exam. There will be objective types questions in the examination.

    >> Paper I : It is of Mathematics carrying 300 marks.
    >> Paper II : It is divided into two parts.

    The first part is of English subject carrying 200 marks & second part will be of General Ability carrying 400 marks.

    So, Please Prepare well for NDA Examination as per the pattern and Syllabus and if you cracked the Written examination, then you are eligible to appear for Final Interview Conducted by SSB and if you need more information then please check official website :

    hello friend,Joining Indian Defence is a good decision for a citizen of India in order to serve the country and to achieve the great success and to enjoy the varied benefits offered to the service holders in monetary as well as non-monetary forms.For all those aspirants who are desirous of joining Indian Defence ,some entrance tests are required to be cleared.For a student done with 12th,NDA exam is to be taken .
    NDA stands for NATIONAL DEFENCE ACADEMYheld by UPSC .You can visit www.upsc.gov.in for more details.
    The eligibility to join NDA is as follows:
    1) 12th pass with Physics and maths as compulsory subjects
    2) Age limits between 16.5 to 19 years
    3) Must be a citizen of India
    4) Only male candidates are eligible
    5) Males should be unmarried.

    For NDA I, The schedule is as follows:
    LAST DATE FOR APPLY --- 31-01-2012
    DATE OF EXAM---15-04-2012 (SUNDAY)

    If you clear the test,you need to appear for a round of Pysical and medical tests and a personal interview.
    Successful completion of above will make you eligible for the post and then you would be selected and allowed for IMA training.

    In defence sector there are three different sectors such as army, navy, air force. The qualification to join in these sectors are as follows;

    Minimum qualification to join in the army is +2, If you are a +2 candidate you can appear for NDA exam to join in the army. If you are a graduate you can appear for CDS exam to join in the army.

    Age limit is 16 1/2 to 19 for NDA candidates and 19 to 25 for CDS candidates. The height should be at least 157 cm. And weight should be in proportion to the height.

    Minimum qualification to join in the Navy is +2 with Physics and mathematics subject and should score 60 % mark, If you are a +2 candidate you can appear for NDA exam to join in the navy. If you are a graduate you can appear for CDS exam to join in the navy.

    Age limit is 16 1/2 to 19 for NDA candidates and 19 to 24 for CDS candidates. The height should be at least 160 cm. And weight should be in proportion to the height.

    Minimum qualification to join in the Air force is +2 with Physics and mathematics subject and should score 60 % mark, If you are a +2 candidate you can appear for NDA exam to join in the air force. If you are a graduate in engineering you can appear for CDS, PABT, AFCAT, UES exams to join in the air force.

    Age limit is 16 1/2 to 19 for NDA candidates and 19 to 23 for CDS candidates. The height should be at least 160 cm. And weight should be in proportion to the height.

    To join in defence services to join through National Defence Academy you need to satisfy the eligibility criteria's framed for the exam.

    As regarding the exam,the candidate need to have satisfied all the criteria's in order to apply for the exam.

    National Defence Academy which is known as one of the defence service exam and this exam is carried over

    by Union Public Service Commission.

    This exam is conducted for candidates to join in:
    • Indian Army
    • Indian Navy
    • Indian Air Force
    This exam is conducted twice in a year namely as NDA I and NDA II.


    Criteria's Required:

    For applying for this exam the candidate need to be a citizen of India

    Only unmarried male candidates are eligible to apply for the NDA Exam

    The age limit for the NDA Exam specifies that the candidate must have 16 1/2-19 years

    Education qualification for the NDA Exam is that the candidate need to have completed +2 from a recognized school board of education for joining in Indian Army

    For joining in Indian Navy and Air Force means that the candidate must have completed +2 with Physics and mathematics as subjects

    The candidate applying must seek that he is physically fit as it is a very important criteria as regarding the defence service exam.


    If he tends to satisfy all the above criteria's then he is eligible to apply for the NDA Exam

    You need to prepare yourself of this examination.The examination consist of written test and Interview.


    The syllabus are,

    >>>>Mathematics

    >>>>General ability Test

    The written exam has following topics
    1 Mathematics for 150 minutes of 300 marks
    2 General Ability Test for 150 minutes for 600 marks.
    The exam is objective type only.
    general Ability has two parts:
    Part A English skills
    Part B GK

    Those who qualify the written test are called for SSB Interview.

    To join National Defence Academy i.e. NDA, you have to appear in NDA entrance test conducted by Union Public Service Commission(UPSC).

    NDA offers following Defence Wings-

    ~Indian Army

    ~Indian Navy

    ~Indian Air Force


    Eligibility detail for NDA:

    Indian Army-> you ahould have passed 12th in any subjects form recognized school.

    Indian Navy-> You should have passed 12 th with PCM subjects from recognized school.

    Indian Aor Force-> You should have passed 12th with PCM subjects from recognized school.

    For NDA you Age should be between 16.5 to 19 years.

    You should be an Indian Citizen.

    -The NDA Exams are conducted twice in an year by the UPSC,in the months of April and September and aerial known as NDA-I and NDA-II respectively.
    -It is conducted for the enrollment of deserving candidates in the three wings of Indian Defence,namely :
    # ARMY.
    # NAVAL ACADEMY.
    # AIR FORCE.
    -The notifications of the release of forms are made for the exams in January and May respectively,on the official website of UPSC.
    :: ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA ::
    -You must be a citizen of India,
    or,You must be a subject of Nepal or Bhutan,
    or,You must be a Tibetan refugee settled permanently in India,1962.
    -You must be 16.5 to 19 years of age.
    -You must have passed your 10+2 board exams from a recognized board or university.
    Final year students are also applicable.
    -You must have had Physics and Maths as your subjects at 10+2 level if you seek to apply for Navy and Air Wing.

    N.D.A is conducted by upsc every year twice.If you qualify this exam you can get job in Indian Air Force.Eligibility criteria for NDA exam:Candidates should have complete/final year in P.C.M stream from a recognized university can eligible for NDA examAge should be between 16 1/2 to 19 years.
