Being an athlete is not enough to join indian army because there is a requirement for the educational qualification , age and physical requirement as well.
If you are fit in all the criteria then only you can apply for the UES.
As you have written that you are an athlete and want to apply for UES.
Let me tell you one thing you have not written the qualification which is the most important thing to apply for the UES.
UES stands for the university entry scheme.
Candidate can only apply for this if he is in prefinal year of the engineering so no requiremeent foe athletics over here , just qualification.
If you are having this qualification then your age should be 19 to 24 years for the same.
After applying for the UES you will be called for the SSB directly there will be no written test for that.

    thank you.

UES stands for University Entry Scheme
    ========================================

UES comes under PERMANENT COMMISSION in which you have to service till retirement.

Under this scheme selection procedure takes place first through Campus interview followed by SSB interview and then medical test.

To apply for this examination you must have a B.E/B.Tech in any discipline from a recognized university

You must secure at least 60% marks in their examination.

Age limits for this examination is 18 years and 28 years at the time of appearing for this examination and there is no upper age limits is given to the reserved categories.

Unmarried male candidates are eligible to apply for this examination and female candidates are not eligible to apply for this examination.

As you have played at national level you can get advantage in interview as well as in sport quota.

    UES(University Entry Scheme)

UES refers to University Entry scheme. It's a direct entry scheme.

For this scheme, you must hold the citizenship of India.

Only pre-final year student in engineering field are eligible to enter in this scheme.

Age limit for this scheme is 19 years to 25 years.

Only unmarried students are allowed to enter in this scheme

SSB interview may be conducted in the month of July/august of the final year.

    All the best...............
