    Hello,

In order to become a pilot in IAF, you need to appear for various exams. such as-

    1) CDS examination- It is for permanent commission. After clearing it, you get a call for SSB interview.

    2) SSC- it is a short service commission. Where you have to appear directly for SSB interview.

Both the test are there for recruitment in flying branch of IAF. Other than this, AFCAT also provides you the opportunity to appear for flying branch.

However to become a pilot, you need to pass in PABT. Which is a lifetime test taken once. If you are passed, it will remain your status for all preceding test. This test consist of-

    1) Meter reading

    2) Telling direction of plane.

    Good luck

    Thank you
