Sir, My father is also a retired Havildar of Signal regiment. What benefit i get from this?

Only NDA is the way for joining in officer rank?

no dear,

NDA is not only way to enter in defence services as officer,
but it is only way to join defence services just after 12th,

for NDA:
12th appearing or passed out,
must be having maths with any stream
age limit is 16.5-19.5yrs.

after graduation:
through CDS:

graduate in any stream,
age limit is 19-24yrs.

through direct SSB:

graduate in any stream,with minimum of 50%.
ncc 'c' certificate in senior division,
age limit is 19-25yrs.

these are the the ways to enter army as an officer,
you may also join army as technical officer but for that you have to pursue graduation in engineering.

you can join the indian army through various schemes available:

after passsing 12th

there are two choices like NDA and TES

selection in NDA is on the basis of your test and SSb interview

selectoin in TES is on the basis of class 12th marks.

for NDA the eligibility criteria is as:

Age must bebetween
16 ½ to 19 yrs as of first day of the month in which course is due to commence



Qualification of the cadet must be
12th Class of 10+2 System of Education/Equivalent for Army and with Physics and Maths for AF/Navy



Marital Status should be
Un Married


similar is the criteria for TES save qualification.

Qualification required for this is
12th Class of 10+2 System of Education/Equivalent with a minimum aggregate of 70% in Physics, Chemistry & Maths(PCM)

you can also appear for army after graduation as well .


you can join the IMA which has 250 vacancies twice a year.

the eligibility criteria is as:


Age must be between
19 and 24 yrs as of first day of month in which course is due to commence


Qualification required is
Graduation from Recognised University.


Marital Status
Un Married

there is also another option for you at the OTA which has 175 vacancies twice a year
the Eligibility Criteria is as


Age between
19 and 25 yrs as on 01 Jan of the yr in which course is due to commence for Apr course and 01 Jul of the yr in which course is due to commence for Oct course

NO YOU WILL NOT GET ANY BENEFIT IF YOUR FATHER WAS A HAVILDAR.

As per your qualification is concerned,NDA is the only way to join army as officer rank.
There is only one way to join army as a officer that is NDA,for commerce with maths.

Other wise if you had physics,chemistry and mathematics in 10+2,then you had one more entry in army as TES(Technical Entry Scheme).
But as you did not had physics,chemistry in 10+2,then as of now you have only one entry as a officer in army.
