    Yes, you are eligible to join DRDO after doing engineering in Mechanical branch but you required to contact with your institution authorities.DRDO is research field work and development of components like missiles and Ministry of Defence.

    Syllabus of DRDO entrance exam for Mechanical branch candidates are following as :

    >>> Manufacturing Science

    >>> Welding

    >>> Metal Casting

    >>> theory of Machines

    >>> Slider Crank Mechanism

    >>> Fluid Mechanics

    All about are the important topics for DRDO ENTRANCE EXAM conducted by Defence board.But you must have six month industrial training .There are total 592 seats vacancies releases every years.

    The mode of selection on the basis of Written test and interview.If you are interested to join DRDO industrial training then required to fill complete application form and send to following address :

    "DRDO Entry Test-2011
    Civil Lines Post Office,
    Delhi-110054"


    Important dates :-

    >>> Last date of online application form : 14/02/2011

    DRDO is working in various areas of military technology whichinclude aeronautics, armaments, combat vehicles,electronics,instrumentation engineering systems, missiles, materials, naval systems, advanced computing,simulation and life sciences
    .

    For joining in DRDO,you must satisfy the framed eligibility criteria and they may include:

    Eligibility for DRDO:

    > The candidate who is applying for the DRDO exam must be a citizen of India

    > Candidate must have the following criteria for the respected cast:

    For SC/ST - Upto 5 years

    For OBC - Upto 3 years

    For PH candidates - Upto 5 years(10 years for SC/ST and 8 years for OBC)

    For Ex-service men there is 3 years extra from the prescribed caste limits.

    > The education qualification for the DRDO exam is that candidate must have done Engineering/Technology in ECE,Mechanical Engineering,Computer Science,Chemical Engineering,Electrical Engineering

    > Final year candidate can also apply for the DRDO Exam.


    DRDO exam consists of a booklet which consists of 2 sections namely as Section A and Section B.

    If you satisfy the above criteria's then you can apply for the DRDO Exam.

    Hello dear,

    To join DRDO you have to appear for DRDO-SET.
    Eligibility Criteria :-
    Education :- You have to get at least first class in BE/B.Tech in the streams Chemical Engg/ Mechanical Engg /Electronics & Communication Engg / Computer Science & Engg/ Electrical Engg from a recognized University.
    Age Limit :- 28 years
    Nationality :- Only Indian can apply.

    Candidates appearing in the final examination (final semester) may also apply.
    Exam Pattern of DRDO-SET :- Questions consist of two sections
    Forms generally available in December every year.

    Hi friend,

    i would suggest you to first focus on your 11th and JEE preparations. Its good to aim but yeah dont think much.

    Anyways if you want to join DRDO you have to appear for UPSC exam followed by an interview. If you pass it then you will get a job. But all this is after you graduate.

    So work hard for JEE and try to get into it

    Eligibility DRDO exam:

    ->> You should have graduation orDegree & Maths in Engineering or Medicine or Agriculture in Sciencecan apply for DRDO .

    ->> 60% marks in the exam.

    ->> Engineers, Freshers, Scientist,Computer Engineers, MCA, Diploma Holders are eligibilbe for this entrance exam.
    About the Exam:

    1. Number of questions will be around 150.

    2.It is a 3hours Test.

    3. It is divided into two sections.

    a) Section A(Approx 100 questions)

    b) Section B(Approx 50 questions)


    You will be Selected on the basis of EntranceExamination conducted by the DRDO.

    How To Apply:

    ->> Application formcan be obtained by theregistrar on paying Rs 300/- through DD in favour of registrar,BharathiyaUniversity ,Coimbatore

    The applications can also bedownloaded online.

    You must have first class Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Technology in Electronics & Communication Engg / Mechanical Engg / Computer Science & Engg/ Chemical Engg/ Electrical Engg from a recognized University in respective/relevant discipline.

    Note : If a class/division is not awarded at B.E./B.Tech or equivalent degree, a minimum of 60% marks in aggregate or 6.75 CGPA shall be considered equivalent for grade points on a ten point scale.

    Your age should be below 24 years for general candidate.

    Age relaxation: Maximum relaxation in upper age limit will be as under:-

    i) Upto 05 years in case of SC/ST candidates
    ii) Upto 03 years in case of OBC candidates
    iii) Upto 05 years for Physically Handicapped Persons (10 years for SC/ST and 08 years for OBC candidates) in identified disciplines even if no posts are reserved for them in these areas.
    iv) In case of Ex-serviceman, services rendered in the armed forces plus 3 years

    Dear aspirant,
    You can apply for the Senior technical assistant - b posts(STA-B).
    You can apply it through the official website of DRDO www.drdo.gov.in
    DRDO stands for Defence research and developement organisation
    Age limit- 18 to 28 years of age.
    As you are a mechanical engineer so you can apply for mechanical branch, because diloma in mechanical engineering is required for the same.

    -second option for you will be to apply for CDS examination and apply for air force or navy as engineering graduates are in high demand .
    OR you can also apply for afcat examination.
    AFCAT air force common admission test.
    you have better scope if you apply for aeronautical engineer in AIR FORCE technical branch.
    AGE should be 18 to 28 for the same.
    ELECTRONICS/MECHANICAL ENGINEERING graduate can apply for the post.
