In Indian army the minimum height required is 153 cms for males and 152 cms for females.
In Indian Navy the minimum height required is 160 cms for males and 156 cms for females.
There are relaxations for reserved categories like Ghorkhas etc.

NDA stands for national defence academy . the examination for nda is conducted by UPSC Twice in a year .

Qualification require for NDA { NAVY ACADEMY } :

• you should be citizen of india
• you should be unmarried
• ou should be qualified in 12th in science stream like percentage of marks form recognized board .
• Your age should be 16 1/2 to 19 years

Qualification require for NDA { Army Academy }

• you should be citizen of india

The Height required for Indian Army depends on AGE and WEIGHT.

The required height is relaxed for candidates belonging to the North East and hilly
area like Gorkhas, Nepalese, Assamese and Garhwalis by 5.0 cms.


The correlation table between age, height and average weight is given in the

Height is a very crucial factor when it comes to recruitment.Many forces consider this as the top most priority criteria since there will be involved training activities based on the height requirement.When it comes to Indian territorial army and Indian naval services i will tell you some of the basic physical criteria's involved,

*Height must be minimum 157.5 cms for men and 152 cms for women for both Indian navy and Indian army.
*Weight is correlated according to height ratio
*Eyesight must be minimum 6/6 or 6/36 for distant vision.
*Spectacles must be around 6/9.
*Myopia must be within -1.75D for Indian navy,And -3.75 D for Indian army.
*Color blind limit is CP-3 level.
*Candidate must be able to differentiate between green and red.
