    Hi dear Friend

No dear There is Not that much preparation is needed for the CDS and AFCAT

If you are Interested to Join in the Defense sector you must prepare 1 hour Preparation more than enough for Preparation

But before that you have to concentrate on the Academic subjects

There is No Percentage Cut off for the CDS

But You have to score Minimum 60% of marks for the AFCAT to get in to the Indian Air force

At the Start of 2 nd year you should focus on the Serious preparation

So Make Plan in your own and Balance both Academics as well as Preparation for the Entrance exams

For Proper preparation it would take At most 3 hours per a day

But you can Improve the Knowledge on the Current affairs and General Knowledge

Since Most of the Questions will be asked from the Past One year before the Examination events , Inventions etc

So you don't stop read the News papers and Magzines from First year onwards

So I hope You will definitely get in to the Defense sector

Hope you will enjoy with the New life

    All the very Best

Yes dear , you can start preparing for the CDS and AFCAT exam while being in the first year of graduation.
but you can only appear for the exam in final year of graduation or after graduation.

as the questions mainly asked in these exams are from general Knowledge and English and mathematics.
so you can start preparing these topics from now on.
there is no such barrier that you will only be capable of solving problems after graduation.the questions ask in these section are basic ones based on fundamental grammar and mathematics.
in general knowledge all the recent happenings in Indian ,and the geography and history related questions are asked.

so get some books to prepare for these sections.
1 hour daily from now on is enough to give you a concrete preparation for the exam.

    good luck
