    For which officer post I can apply in Army being a BE Mechanical Engineering student? Through which exams? When to give these exams in pre-final or final year?

    After BE mechanical degree for which posts of officers I can apply through which exams?
    Can I give these exam in prefinal or final year of BE degree?

    Information about officer post in Defence after Mechanical Engineering : Yes,you can apply for defence field after completing B.E in Mechanical field through Technical branch.According to my experience in Defence field you are eligible for Technical branch through a two important scheme are following as :

    1) University Entry Scheme :

    Under University Entry Scheme Pre-final Year candidates are eligible and currently studies in the B.E/B.Tech course in Relevant Stream of Engineering like Mechanical ,Electronics and Communication and Computer Science engineering.

    But there are so,many conditions for joining defence field under University Entry Scheme with at least minimum 60% marks in previous semester examination.Under this scheme only Engineering field candidates are allow and you are eligible for three defence field are : Indian Army,Indian Navy and Indian Air Force.

    Your age limit should be in between 18 to 28 years before applying Defence under University Entry Scheme.

    Only male candidates are applicable for joining defence sector under UES(University Entry Scheme).

    2) Direct Entry Scheme :

    Direct entry scheme means you are eligible for Defence sector after completing engineering degree or you should have four years engineering degree with minimum 60% marks in aggregate from recognized University.

    But entry in defence through this scheme for final years candidates and pre-final years candidates are not allow to appear in Defence through Direct Entry Scheme.

    For applying defence through Direct entry scheme your maximum age should be 25 years before applying under Direct Entry Scheme.

    But if you want to admission in Defence through Entrance examination then you have to appear in Combined Defence Service Examination and mainly it is conducted for entry in Defence wings or technical entry scheme .

    If you completed Graduation or Under Graduate degree in engineering then you have numerous jobs opportunities in Indian Navy and Air Force.But jobs in Defence field is also based on your G.K and Technical field knowledge.

    The salary package in Indian Army is depend upon your working skills and profile .Your monthly salary may be comes in the range of Rs. 15,000/- to 35,000/- Rs. per month.

    Hello Sir,

    Being an Engineer you can apply for any post in Indian Army including the technical fields.
    You can give graduate entry exams like TGC, CDS, AFCAT, UES.
    These forms can be filled in final year engineering.
    They are available in the months of January and July.

    You told you are in 2nd year of engineering.if you want to become a pilot then you can go for..

    COMBINED DEFENSE SERVICES.
    For Air Force Academy you have to be between.....19-23 Years
    No of seats available for pilot is 32.
    Notifications come in month of AUGUST AND MARCH.
    You will have written exam in FEBRUARY and AUGUST.
    You will have test for..
    ..English.. 100 marks
    ..General Knowledge... 100 Marks
    ..Elementary Mathematics....100 Marks

    AIR FORCE COMMON ADMISSION TEST(AFCAT)
    You must be a GRADUATE STUDENT.
    Your age must be between 19 to 28 years .
    Notifications come in month of JULY and JANUARY.
    You will have written exam in FEBRUARY and AUGUST.
    You will have test for..
    ..General Knowledge.
    ..Elementary Mathematics
    ..Logical reasoning
    Paper will be of 100 marks.

    CDS ,AFCAT,UES,SSC are some of the options you can go through.....its better to apply for these exams in your final year..you can start in your pre-final semester excpt UES ..in UES there are chances that you can apply in the prefinal year........

    Dear Friend,
    There are a lot of options for a mechanical student in defence sector.
    A student either belong to 3rd year or above can apply for jobs in defence.
    There are two procedure you can follow:
    1. You can either go through UES(university entry scheme)
    2.or through direct fill up thr forms.

    recently a form of Air force has published which last date is 7th of september, which is for EKT(engineering knowledge test).
    After getting success in EKT you will called for SSB, then you will be finally selected.

    as a mechanical student you can enter into defense as an officer related to your profession..

    1)CDS EXAM

    2)DIRECT ENTRY SCHEME

    3)NCC SPECIAL ENTRY

    4)OTA(OFFICER TRAINING ACADEMY

    CDS IS AN ENTRANCE EXAM (WRITTEN TEST FOLLOWED BY INTERVIEW FOR THE MERIT LIST CANDIDATE)

    THIS EXAM USED TO BE HELD 2 TIMES IN YEAR(CDS I & CDS II) BY UPSC

    REQUIREMENTS=

    Educational qualification=should be a graduates who had scored minimum of 60% marks

    -should not have any backlog

    -age=19-24 years

    -vision=normal vision i.e 6/6 or 6/12 with or without glasses

    -height =for men it should be of minimum 157cm and for women

    -should be physically fit and fine

    notification=

    date of notification=02-06-2012

    last date for receipt of application form=02-07-2012

    date of examination=16-09-2012
