    Recruitment criteria of students from engineering colleges for engineering department of Army?

    Hello,
    I m pursuing B-Tech at present for Dehradun Institute of Technology, Dehradun. and has just got over with my 2nd Year.
    I am like want to go for the Defence Technical line that is Engineering Department of Army.
    So I wished to know about the Criteria for the Recruitment of Students from Engg. Colleges.

    Recruitment criteria for Engineering department of Army : There are so,many different criteria's for recruitment in Indian Army and other department of Defence service.The Indian Armed force divided into four categories : Indian Coast Guard,Indian Army,Indian Navy and Indian Air Force.If you are interested to join Officer post in any one department then you can apply for two field are following as :

    1) Short Service Commission

    2) Permanent Commission

    This two are the recruitment field and according to your interest and eligibility criteria you can apply.But if you want to make career in Permanent Commission then you can do jobs up to retirement but in case of Short Service Commission you have career in Defence Force for the duration of ten years.

    To joining Indian Army there are various entry scheme but in case of University Entry Scheme you are eligible for only Permanent Commission and it is scheme for only Engineering students.

    Under University entry scheme Pre-final years and final years candidates are eligible for Permanent Commission .The steps for selection in Indian Army through Permanent Commission are following as :

    >>> Campus Interview

    >>> Service Selection Board Interview

    >>> Medical Test

    After these test merit list will be declared and merit list indicates final result for selection in Army as a Technical Officer in Indian Army.For Permanent Commission only Male candidates are eligible.

    But for Short Service Commission and it is consider as a Special Entry scheme and Technical Scheme.But in this question we discuss about Technical field and for that you should have engineering degree in any discipline from recognized University or college.

    The recruitment procedure will be conducted in the month of October and March means two times in a years.The details for interview and examination procedure are following as :

    1) SSB INTERVIEW : It is very difficult interview as compare of Campus interview and many task you have to clear then you are eligible for Merit list selection.

    2) Merit List : The Merit List will be declared on the basis of overall performance in each event.

    Hello Sir,

    I am happy to inform you that for engineers, theres a special entry in Indian Army.
    Its the TGC entry.
    The criteria for it is specified as below:


    Vacancies Per Course As Notified (Twice a Year)
    Notify in Employment News and leading Daily news Paper Notified by Additional Directorate General Recruiting / AG Branch in Apr and Oct
    Eligibility Criteria
    Age 20 to 27 yrs
    Born Between 2nd Jan to 1st Jan for Jan Course.
    2nd Jul to 1st Jul for Jul Course
    Qualification BE / B Tech in notified streams of Engineers
    Marital Status Un Married / Married
    Application to be Received by Apr / May and Oct / Nov
    Likely SSB Date Mar / Apr and Sep / Oct
    Date Commencement of Trg Jan and Jul
    Training Academy IMA
    Duration of Trg One Year
    Form for it are available in January and July.

    CDSE (Combined Defence Service Examination ) you have to follow certain educational and physical requirement are following as :


    1) You should have bachelor degree in any discipline from recognized University with minimum 55% marks.


    2) You should be Physical and Mentally fit .This requirement is necessary for getting jobs in Defence sector.


    3) Your minimum height should be 157.5 cms .


    4) Your age should not more than 25 years for applying any defence entrance examination.

    hi

    as an engineer you can join indian army by facing either if these ways

    1)can write CDS written exam i.e combined defense service examination

    age for this is 19 - 24 years

    specialization=can be any graduate.

    -should have scored 60 % minimum of marks

    -there should not be any backlog

    -2)TES = technical entry scheme

    its useful for engineering candidate specially from technical back ground

    3)direct SSB (service selection board) interview through campus selection

    4)NCC special entry=its for those who have NCC certificate of minimum 'c' grade


    as an engineer you can join as an short service commission as well as in permanent commission based on the seat provided to you

    date of notification=02-06-2012

    last date of receipt of application form=02-07-2012(monday)
