Dear friend,
I am also a B.Sc(IT) student and i am preparing for CDS exam. You can go through it, else go for postgraduationa and then try for other branches except frontier branch like education section, admin, logistic etc.

You can go direct to defence service by clearing a SSB interview after compleating BSC IT.

Hey ! there is a lot of scope for b sc. it students in defence today . Just prepare for CDS entrance exam and you can get a very respectable job in indian defence . thanx !

yes u r eligible for all exams in defence after graduation degree so stop worring and concentrate on ur studies now

there is large scope for bsc it student in the defence..u hve to qualify the CDS exam then if possible then u will provide the eme, signals core which r related to your field...fill up the CDS form in the final year..form will be on internet in upsc website..exam will be conducted 2 times in ayear( form available in nov/ dec and april/may)

After Graduation You can aply fro CDS Examination , and various other examination conduct by UPSC time to time when there ia vacancy.

Hi, At present you are not elligible for CDS EXAM.WHEN You will be in final year you can apply for CDS. There is large scope for B.Sc IT students in the defence.Once u qualify the CDS exam then if possible u will provide the eme, signals core which r related to your branch which will be very respectful job in defence..CDS held twice in a year( form available innov/ dec and april/may).you can fill up the exam and can achieve ur goal in your life.

On the basis of your graduation degree ( i.e, BSc in Information and Technology) you can make a very nice career in Indian defence forces.

You can appear for following examinations :

Combine Defence Services Examination (CDSE) : CDS examination is indian defence forces recruitment examination conducted by UPSC twice in a year in the month of August and February.

The candidate must be a male Indian within age limit of 19 to 23 years to be eligible for the exam and must have did graduation in any stream. Only male candidates are eligible to apply for the examination. Final year/semester appearing students may also apply provisionally for the examination.


Short service Commission (SSC) examination : SSC examination is also conducted by UPSC twice in a year. To be eligible for the exam, the candidate must have did graduation in any of the stream with minimum 60% marks. Rest of the eligibility is same as that of CDS exam. Then you will be called for SSB interview- interview conducted by the UPSC after the CDS exam.
