    Hello friend,

You are in a good position to join the defense forces as you said that you are pursuing your final year engineering.First of all you should decide on which field of defense you are interested in,namely there are three main wings i.e Indian territorial army,Indian navy and Indian air force.Once completing your engineering you should write the Combined defense service exam conducted by the Union public service commission twice in a year once in mid February and in mid September respectively. If you are selected you will be trained in Indian military academy,Indian naval academy and Air force academy respectively. Also you can join the Officers training academy by writing the OTA paper of CDSE comprising of total 200 marks, whereas normal paper consists of 300 marks. You must hold an aggregate of 60% in your graduate degree from any recognized university, you must be a Indian citizen, must be unmarried.

    Procedure for CDSE:

    *Written test
*Interview[Generally conducted by SSB and AFSB for air force.
    *Medical and fitness test.

    >>Written test:The paper consists of English,Elementary mathematics and general awareness of totally 300 marks.
    >>Interview is generally conducted for 5 days divided into two stages where in first stage all the picture perception, general ability, group tasking tests are undertaken. If you pass the first stage physical and physcological tests are conducted on you .
    >>Various medical check ups and fitness tests are undergone in this stage.EG:You should be minimum of 157.5 cms of height and 152 cms for women,Weight is correlated according to height ratio.Eyesight must be 6/6 or 6/36 for distant vision and 6/9 for spectacles corrected vision.Color blind limit is CP-3. and binocular vision must be level 3.

Alternately you can join the Defense force through UNIVERSITY ENTRY SCHEME[UES] On short service or permanent commission basis respectively

*You must be studying in final year of your graduation degree with minimum 60% aggregate.
*Must not have any backlogs in any semester
