    i want to go in air force as an engineer .how can apply in air force? what are the apportunities for me in future .

    Hai,The civil engineering graduation completing student can apply AFCAT and CDS exams to join in Indian airforce.AFCAT eligibility details:-The candidate should be complete graduation or equivalent degree with atleast 60% marks from recognised university.The candidates age should not be lessthan 19 years and should not be morethan 23 years.Candidate should be a citizen of india.For any more information CLICK HEREDetails about CDS:-The candidates should be complete graduation from a recognised university at any percentage.The age limits is 19 years to 23 years.The candidate should be a citizen of india.According your date birth your age is now 19 years, and after completion of your graduation your age will be raises two years i.e 21 years.So you are eligible for both CDS and AFCAT exam.Best of luck.

    As you have mentioned that your are an Engineering student in Civil branch, so being that you can apply for Indian Air Force using two entries as follows.



    1. AFCAT(Air Force Common Admission Test):
    AFCAT as name suggest is conducted by IAF(Indian Air Force) twice in a year as AFCAT I and II in the month of Feb and Aug respectively. Through this entry you can apply for all three branches of IAF(Flying, Technical and Ground Duty). You can apply for UES(University Entry Scheme) through AFCAT while in your 5th sem. Through UES you can join as Technical Officer and will be given PC(Permanent Commission).

    Date of Commencement of Online Application: Dec-Nov and Jun-July
    Month of Examination: AFCAT I: Feb
    AFCAT II: Aug

    Eligibility:
    Age Limit: 19-23 years
    Educational Qualification: Degree in Engineering for Technical Branch, Degree in Engineering or B.Sc or in any discipline (with Physics or Mathematics) for Flying Branch and degree in any discipline for Ground Duty Branch all having minimum 60% marks.

    2. CDS(Combined Defence Services):
    CDS is conducted by UPSC(Union Public Service Commission) twice in a year as CDS I and II in the month of Feb and Sep respectively. Through this entry you can join Flying Branch only.

    am civil engg final... while filling for afcat.. i couldnt proceed for application part 4 ... why is it so... i have given education graduate option e in application part 3 since other option doesnt suit me

    Yes you can also join Indian Air force after the Graduation. After the Graduation you are eligible for the CDS exam. By the CDS exam you can join Indian Air force OR you can also join Indian Air force by the AFCAT exam. AFCAT exam is only for the Indian Air force. So from the both the ways you can join Indian Air force

    AFCAT – Air force Common Admission Test

    Education – For this the candidates have to clear Graduation in any discipline from the recognized college.

    Age Limit – 19-23 years

    Examination Syllabus

    ** General Awareness
    ** General English
    ** Quantitative Aptitude Test
    ** Reasoning Ability

    Duration – 150 Minutes

    CDSE – Combined Defence Service Commission

    Since you are still 3nd year complete it first then you becomes eligible for the AFCAT by which you can join in Indian Air Force.


    AFCAT means "Air force Common Admission Test"


    Stages in the examination:


    written exam and

    Interview.


    Sections in the written exam includes :


    a)Reasoning
    b)Quantitative Aptitude Test
    c)English Language
    d)General Awareness
