    What are the physical standards for Indian Navy?

    Age. 19 to 25 years

    Height and Weight. Minimum height 157 cms with correlated weight.
    Eye Sight. The minimum acceptable vision standard for distant vision 6/60, 6/60 correctable to 6/6. 6/12 with glasses. Should not be colour/night blind.

    Indian Navy is one of the Indian defence force and for joining in this force you can write the NDA,CDS and SSC exam.

    There are certain eligibility criteria which you must possess to write the respected exam and you must be a unmarried male candidate for joining in this force.

    The candidates must be physically fit for joining in Navy and as you have asked for the information regarding the physical standard refer below for information regarding it.

    Hello,
    You can join Indian navy through the side of officer and other rank. You can join Indian navy through the N.D.A, C.D.S, S.S.R (Sailors) , Dock yard, artificer apprentices , cost guard.

    For the physical criteria of the Indian navy :

    1. Your height should be minimum 165 cm.
    2. You should have to run minimum 1.6 km in a given specified time(normally 7 minutes).


    After that you will have to call for the medical examination or on that day in which you have to check for all medical :

    1. Your weight should be 50 kg at minimum.
    2. Your chest should be 77 cm and expansion should be 5 cm.
    3. You should be no disease of the skin.
    4. You should have no disease in the ear, eyes, nose and throat.
    5. You should be able to hear about 610 cm.
    6. Your eye sight vision is 6/6 for better eye.

    PHYSICAL STANDARDS:

    You should be Physically fit to ensure your selection in INDIAN NAVY.

    There are measurements according to which selection is done which are as:

    Height for Males should not be less than 157cms
    For females it should not be less than 152cms

    Weight should be appropriate with your height

    Eye sight should be 6/12 without glasses in one eye 6/9 and other 6/12
    No colour blindness


    Other requirements

    You need to run 1.6 kms in 7 minutes

    10 pushups and 20 situps

    Every defence service consist of there own eligibility criteria like N.D.A and C.D.S examination.Lets see the eligibility criteria of Navy in N.D.A and C.D.S examination.

    N.D.A means National Defence Academy examination.This examination was conducted by Union Public Service Commission.If you want to join navy in N.D.A and then you need to finished the 12th examination from a recognized school or equivalent qualification and you have a science background and then only your eligible to apply for this examination.

    C.D.S means Combined Defence Academy examination.This examination was conducted by Union Public Service Commission.If you want to join navy in C.D.S and then you need to finished the graduate degree from a recognized university or equivalent qualification.The graduate degree in B.Sc physics & mathematics or engineering.The candidate age should be 19 years to 22 years at the time of appearing for this examination.

    1)most important candidate should be physical and mentally sound healthy,
    2)should be free from any disease and disability
    .3)candidate should have eyesight 6/6 with or without glasses
    .
    4)you should not have any bone diseases.
    5)you should have minimum height of 157cm(men),152cm(women) along with chest expansion of 5cm(well developed chest).
    6)
    Your weight would depend according to your height.
    7)Your age limit should be 16 1/2 - 19yrs(12TH PASSED) AND 19-24 YEARS FOR GRADUATES).

    I give you advice to build up yourself by Physical training,running,swimming etc. so you are successfully in your mission.

    After clearing Physical fitness test you are eligible for SSB interview and it is five days interview.

    SSB interview is very tough interview rather then all other interview.

    You have not mentioned here for which field you have selected.


    Eligibility Conditions :


    Age :

    Between 19-1/2 to 25 years (candidates to be born between 02 January 1984 to 01 July 1989 both dates inclusive)

    Educational Qualifications :

    Science Graduate with minimum 60% marks in Physics, Mathematics or Electronics OR Post Graduate in Science with minimum 55% marks in Physics, Mathematics or Electronics.

    Physical Standards :


    Hight and Wieght : Minimum height Male - 157 cms, Female - 152 cms with correlated weight.

    Eye Sight - The minimum acceptable standard for distant vision 6/6, 6/9 correctable to 6/6, 6/6 with glasses and should not be colour/night blind.

    You are eligible to join the defence service examination.

    Graduation level examination is combined defence service examination and the examination was conducted two times in a year.

    Lets see the requirements of the examination.There is a different course are available in C.D.S examination.

    They are,

    1)Indian Military Academy

    2)Naval Academy

    3)Air force Academy

    4)Officer Training Academy

    Age limits for this examination :-

    1)Indian Military Academy :- 19-24 years at the time of appearing for this examination.

    The physical standard for navy are;

    The height should be at least 157 cm. And the weight should be in proportion to the height.

    The age for +2 candidates is between 16 1/2 to 19 and for graduates is between 19 to 24.

    Eye sight uncorrected with out glass 6/9.

    You can join Indian navy through the side of officer and other rank.

    You can join Indian navy through the N.D.A, C.D.S, S.S.R (Sailors) , Dock yard, artificer apprentices , cost guard.

    For the physical criteria of the Indian navy :

    1. Your height should be minimum 165 cm.
    2. You should have to run minimum 1.6 km in a given specified time(normally 7 minutes).


    you will have to call for the medical examination or on that day in which you have to check for all medical :

    Your weight should be 50 kg at minimum.
    Your chest should be 77 cm and expansion should be 5 cm.
    You should be no disease of the skin.
    You should have no disease in the ear, eyes, nose and throat.
    Your eye sight vision is 6/6 for better eye.

    You can Join Indian Navy through NDA Examination or through CDS Examination and You have to apply for these examination according to your Eligiblity. Both the examination is Conducted by UPSC Twice in a Year.


    To apply for these examination you must be in good physical and mental health and free from any disease.


    The minimum acceptable height is 157.5 cms.


    Physical Requirements :


    You are advised to keep themselves in good physical condition, by following the undermentioned routine :


    1- Running 2.4 km in 15 minutes
    2- Skipping
    3- Pushups and sit ups (minimum 20 each)
    4- Chin ups (minimum 08)
    5- Rope climbing - 3-4 metres.

    Hello friend,
    Indian naval service involves one of the highly disciplined procedures and criteria's for candidates selection.First of all you must be a Indian citizen with valid documents and must be unmarried.For different entrance exams like National defense exam,CDSE the service has framed rules and i would like to mention some of the rules,

    *Height must be minimum 157 cms for men and 152 cms for women.
    *Weight is correlated according to height ratio
    *Eyesight must be minimum 6/6 or 6/36 for distant vision.
    *Spectacles corrected vision must be 6/9
    *Color blind limit id CP-3 LEVEL
    *Myopia limit is -1.75 D including astigmatism.

    There should be no Color Blindness or Night Blindness.

    hello dear

    you can join Indian Navy.

    commerce students join Indian Navy after graduation.

    to join in Indian Navy, you have to appear an qualify UPSC exam.

    through UPSC exam, you can join in Indian Navy.

    the criteria to attain in the UPSC exam is

    minimum graduation in qualification with 55% marks.

    age limit 21-29 years.

    hi, dear 1st you should be pass the 12th in non medical stream minimum 50% marks height :- 157 cm chest:- 77 as noral and you have to compress 82 means 77 to 82 cm eye sight 6/6 and with glasses 6/12 and no major injury or any skin problem

    > your age should be in between 19 to 25 years.
    > you should be unmarried.
    > your minimum height required is 157cm.

    1)AGE -17-20years

    2)HEIGHT-157cms
    WEIGHT-According to height.
    CHEST- With Minimum expansion of 5cms.

    3) No defect in Eyes.

    4)RACE-1.6Km in 7min
    Squats-20
    PUSH UPS-10

    Dear Friend,
    The physical Standards for a candidate to join to Indian Army is
    • Should have a minimum height of 160 cm
    • The weight must be in relation to the height that is minimum 52 kg.
    • Your chest should be 77 cm and the expansion should be minimum 5 cm
    • You should be able to run 5 km with in 25 minutes
    • You should be able to do Long jump, high jump, short put, climbing etc.

    • You should pass a written test.
    I am pasting a table through which you can relate the correct weight and height eligible.
