    What is the process to join in Indian Navy?

    sir my name is niranjan reddy.k my father is an ex-armd person some one told me u hv reservation in defence is it true,,and am intrested to join navy,,chould u please explain d entry proceses in indian navy...

    Procedure to join Indian Navy:

    • You have apply for the exam
    • If your data is full fill with required data
    • You will be getting admit card to write exam,in which center,time and date will be mentioned
    • If you qualify in that exam,they will calling for the Physical and medical test.
    • If you qualify in this test also,you will be getting call letter after the merit release.

    Hey friend,

    It is good to see your interest in joining in Indian Navy which is one of the defence forces of India.

    For joining in this force you have to write the respected entrance exam and it may include such as NDA,CDS and SSC Exam for being a part of Indian Navy.

    Regarding the exams,

    NDA stands for National Defence Academy

    CDS stands for Combined Defence Service

    SSC stands for Short Service Commission

    NDA and CDS Exam are defence service exams which are conducted by UPSC and for SSC it is being laid by Indian Navy for living opportunities for candidates who are engineers.

    There are certain eligibility which you must possess to write the above exams and the eligibility criteria for them is mentioned below:

    Eligibility for NDA and CDS Exam:

    > Candidate should have been a citizen of India.

    > Candidate should strictly be a unmarried male candidate.

    > Candidate should have a age limit of 16 1/2-19 years for NDA for joining in Navy .

    > Candidate should have a age limit of 19-22 years for joining in CDS for joining in Navy.

    > Candidate should have a education qualification of +2 from a recognized university with a fair percentage.

    > Candidate should have completed a Engineering degree from a recognized university with a fair percentage.

    > Candidates must be physically fit while appearing for the NDA and CDS Exam.

    Eligibility for SSC Exam:


    > Candidate must be a citizen of India.

    > Candidate should be a unmarried male candidate.

    > Candidate should have a age limit of 19 1/2-25 years.

    > Candidate should have done a degree in Engineering/Technology from a recognized university with atleast 55%.

    > Candidate should be physically fit while appearing for the exam.

    You will be eligible for the CDS,NDA and SSC Exam only if you satisfy all these above criteria's.

    -->For entering into Indian Navy after graduation one should have a degree in engineering field.

    >>However, You can join Indian Military Academy, Officers Training Academy
    and Indian Air Force.

    The notification for next CDS exam will come on 30th April, 2011.


    --> 1.you are eligible for CDSE exam(combined defense service)
    2.Buy a UPSC examination form in the month when CDSE exams are gonna published in leading employment newspaper.
    3.after having this form fill it properly and fill it with air force section.
    4.give the CDSE exam , try to score maximum
    5.the results will be out 1 - 2 months after the exam.
    6.go for SSB(service selection board)
    7.selection will be on criteria basis.
    8.get selected there.
    9.should be medically fit.

    10. now wait for the results in merit.

    11.if you name will be there then you are now a flying officer.

    12.but before this you have to go for training...they will notify you..

    You can enter in Navy By cracking various exams.

    Also you have reservation as your father is Ex-Serviceman.But for this you have to bring Certificate from Soldier-Board.

    You can enter in Navy by giving following Exams.

    1)CDS ( Combined Defense Services ) examination :-


    UPSC ( Union Public Service Commission ) twice in every year conducts the common entrance exam for the entry into CDS.

    - UNMARRIED MALE & FEMALE eligible for CDS exam.
    - UNMARRIED FEMALE eligible for CDS OTA exam only.
    Eligibility :

    Educational qualification :

    - for Navy : B.Sc ( Physics & Mathematics ) or Bachelor of Engineering.

    Age Criteria :
    - For Naval Academy-19 to 22

    Important dates for CDS exam:


    CDS-I exam:
    Issuing of application form from 29th Oct 2011 to 28th Nov 2011.
    Exam will held on 12th Feb 2012.

    CDS-II exam:
    Issuing of application form from 2nd June 2012 to 2nd July 2012.
    Exam will held on 16th Sep 2012.


    2)short service commissioned:-

    Eligibility for Indian navy short service commissioned for unmarried men and women:

    Eligibility Conditions:
    Age 19.5 Years to 25 Years
    Educational Qualification:

    B.Sc student with minimum 60% marks in Physics,Mathematics & Electronics.
    M.Sc student with minimum 55% marks in Physics, Mathematics & Electronics

    Height & Weight :

    Syllabus of this examination :- Mathematics,English and General ability

    Combined Defence Service :- First you have to passed Bachelor's degree with physics & mathematics at 10+2 level or B.E/B.Tech from a recognized University or equivalent qualification.Candidate age should between 19 years and 23 years and there is no relaxation for this examination.Candidates who are appearing in the final exam of bachelor's degree can also apply for this examination.The examination was conducted twice in a year by Union Public Service Commission.

    The advertisement was already announced in official website and employment news paper in the month of October(22/10/11).

    NCC Special entry :- First you have to passed graduate degree with physics & mathematics at Intermediate(12th) level or B.E/B.Tech from a recognized University or equivalent qualification.The candidate must secure at least 60% marks in their examintion.Candidate age should between 19 years and 23 years and there is no relaxation for this examination.Candidates who are appearing in the final Semester of degree can also apply for this examination.

    Note :- NCC Air wing Senior division C certificate.

    Flying(Pilot) :- First you have to completed degree with physics & mathematics at 12th level or B.E/B.Tech from a recognized School or equivalent qualification.The candidate must secure at least 60% marks in their examintion.Candidate age should between 19 years and 23 years and there is no relaxation for this examination.Candidates who are appearing in the final year of degree course can also apply for this examination.

    If you want to join Indian Army then required to select one branch either from Flying,Technical or from ground duty scheme.Flying branch further classified in sub categories are following as :


    >>> Short Service Commission : If you want to join Short Service Commission then required to clear graduation degree with Physics and Mathematics but you age should be 19-23 years.


    >>> Combined Defence Service examination :CDSE examination is another examination and need to pass 10+2 and graduation degree to get into defence service.

    FOR NDA EXAM

    You can join in Indian navy through two way one is NDA and another is CDSE exam.

    Only 12th standard are eligible for NDA exam.

    This examination is conducted by the Union public service commission (UPSC) twice in a year.

    As my knowledge there are some basic and important eligibility criteria are described below-

    AGE: - Your age should be in between 16.5 to 19 years.

    NOTE: - Only unmarried males are eligible.

    Educational Qualification : - candidates must passed 10+12th with Physics and Maths and have to minimal 60% in 10th.

    NOTE : - Candidates must be physically and medically fit for the NDA test.

    EXAM PATTERN



    FOR CDSE EXAM

    Those candidate are completed graduation are eligible for CDSE exam but 12 standard subject must be Math and Physics.

    B-TECH ans BE student are also eligible for this exam .But you have not any Pending Backlog.Also any graduate fron any recognized university are eligible for CDSE exam.

    Final Year student are also eligible for CDSE exam.There is no percentage marks criteria.

    AGE=>

    Indian Military Academy - 19-24 Years
    Air Force Academy - 19-23 Years
    Naval Academy - 19-22 Years
    Officer's Training Academy - 19-25 Years

    the eligibility criteria

    1)the utmost criteria is the candidate should be medically fine in all aspects

    2)age=19-23 years

    3)vision=6/6 or 6/12 with or without glasses..

    4)free from all diseases and disabilities

    5)height=157cm for men and 153 cm for women

    6)should be any graduates or/any bachelor/bachelor of engineering/technology

    7)should posses graduation passed certificate from the recognized university with 60% marks

    8)should not have any backlogs..

    9)good in mathematics and physics ,English vocabulary as the question paper comprises of problems and grammar

    10)should be dedicated towards work

    11)should be loyal and honest

    12)had to write CDS EXAM

    = date of notification=02-06-2012

    last date of receipt of application form=02-07-2012(monday)

    date of commencement of exam=16-09-2012(sunday)
